Social media

I have been creating social media content since somewhere around 2010. The evolution over this time has been incredible but you still need 2 main things:

1. To know your audience

2. Good writing

Instagram samples - Balblair

For Balblair I briefed in and art-directed shoots, defined content pillars and wrote the copy on behalf of agency YesMore.

We used a combination of local photographers and content-creators to evoke the spirit of the Highlands. Copy tended towards the longer, with details aimed at the whisky-savvy

A barrel of our distinctive fruity new-make spirit weighs about 230kg when it first makes its way into the warehouse. That’s nearly three times the weight of an average man. Over the years it spends maturing, the angels will take their share, making a slightly lighter cargo which makes the final journey to be bottled - but even more delicious when finally enjoyed in a dram.

If you’re thinking of exploring the Highlands there are a few things you’ll be needing. Good boots, strong legs and a love of wild places will get you started. A map and sense of direction will take you further. A little something to share at the end of day? Well, that’s your choice, but a nip of Balblair 12 Year Old would be on our list.

Our new-make spirit is rich and full-bodied with many of the heavier oils and lipids captured from the end of the cut. This means the apricot, orange and green apple notes are warmed by leather and spices. It will be at least a decade and more before we judge the liquid worthy to be called Balblair, but you know what they say about good things…

Cambridge Distillery

Spring sunshine has a quality that can’t be matched – intense, vibrant and so refreshing after a long winter. Perfect pairing? Our Curator’s Gin. We make it with fresh lemon lavender, ginger rosemary and apples from Sir Isaac Newton’s tree in @cubotanicgarden. Serve with a sprig of rosemary for a perfect spring G&T.

Cambridge Truffle Gin - infinite complexity, captured.

Welcome to the Martini Royal – alluringly vibrant Cambridge Japanese Gin blended with the herbaceous dryness of Noilly Prat and shot through with lime, basil and red chilli.

This is one to keep the autumn chill at bay with style and can be enjoyed along two other unique served: For Your Eyes Only and No Time To Die.

The Royal Parks

As 2021 comes to an end we'd like to thank everyone who has helped conserve and enhance the parks this year - a time when outside space has been a critical need for all of us. Whether you work with us, volunteer, or visit kindly, thank you and a very happy new year.

The beauty of autumn does bring some extra jobs around the parks, like clearing the leaves. This one goes out to every team member who's spending a chunk of every day making sure visitors don't slip over, that the grass grows and that tonnes of leaves are gathered and mulched.

Experience a bit of summer magic in #BushyPark! Each weekend from July 31st until the end of August the Royal Parks shire horses will be giving charabanc tours around the park. Places are limited, find out more and secure yours on the link in our bio.
